Good Cheer’s annual Empty Soup Bowl Night takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27 at Langley United Methodist Church, but we could use some help in painting bowls in preparation for the event.
Paint a bowl by yourself, or with friends, a church group, book club, service organization, co-workers, etc.
Longtime supporter Tina Beard has donated 200 bowls to be hand-painted at Whidbey Art Escape at 111 Anthes Ave. opposite Good Cheer’s Langley Thrift Store. There is a $5 fee for the paint and kiln firing, but we are off-setting that with a $5 coupon good at both of Good Cheer’s Thrift Stores.
Whidbey Art Escape in Langley is open Mon, Wed-Sat 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sun 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Call (360) 331-3166 to set up a group.
Your bowl will be available at the Empty Soup Bowl Night to be purchased and filled with delicious soups from local restaurants — all to benefit our community Food Bank. Save the date on your calendar and plan to attend this great community event.
As an additional and very special treat, Doug Roraback and his group will be providing lively and engaging entertainment with his selection of old favorites to sit back and enjoy or sing along.
